Re: Getting lots of Computation errors on DDDT2

I see my system completed a WU in 0.93 hours while my wingman took 2.98 hours. Is this unusual or can the processing in some instances have that much of a difference?
If the Thinkpad were your wingman's and you had a very fast overclocked desktop that would not be unusual, but it's not your case.
Anyway I don't think we currently have crunchers around which can complete a DDDT2 pr WU in 0.93 hour, so your WU will most probably end as Invalid.

Anything strange in its Result Log?

Hello,
The once error (of 809 WUs), I did experienced with DDDT2 was "ts05_f004_pr78b1" with the following statement:
<core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
The system cannot write to the specified device. (0x1d) - exit code 29 (0x1d)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
CHARGE OUTSIDE INNER GSBP REGION
Encountered error. Exiting.
</stderr_txt>

Re: Getting lots of Computation errors on DDDT2

Hi KerSamson,

It's this line I think:

CHARGE OUTSIDE INNER GSBP REGION

The model goes out of bounds for some target compounds, fortunately on only a very small number of tasks. The techs capture that from the periodic production reports that summarize all task fails and address them if significant numbers appear.

Thanks for reporting.

Re: Getting lots of Computation errors on DDDT2

Hi Sekerob,
Thanks for replying. I mentioned this unique failure I experienced with DDDT2 because I was surprised by the thread title "lot of computation errors".
Generally, I experience computation errors very rarely (perhaps 1 per month, or less).
Have a good time,
Yves

Hi Jean,

The result log follows and it doesn't look like anything was done. Unfortunately I don't have any other DDDT2 WUs still around that I can use to compare with. It looks like BOINC tried to restart the WU but it couldn't find anything to restore the state.

Thanks

Re: Getting lots of Computation errors on DDDT2

Note - I found other work units for DDDT2 which are PV, and the Result Log is the same as what I copied above. The only difference is the CPU time is approximately 1.2 hours instead of 0.93.

dkt,
This line is normal. The application always checks if some work has already been done, and for a new WU that's what it says.
Your log looks perfectly normal. Has this job been validated now?

Has this job been validated now? No. As a matter of fact, there are two other executions that are also Inconclusive. Let me copy the status page below so you can see if there is anything that is interesting.

Re: Getting lots of Computation errors on DDDT2

This WU does not smell good.
From the CPU times It seems that it never completes correctly, and still it produces no error message in its log. confused

Hi Jean,

I just wanted to let you know I checked the WU and it has been marked valid.

ts05_ e476_ pr67a0_ 1-- DKT-0529E4878D Valid 8/22/10 06:12:35 8/25/10 16:19:01 0.93 14.2 / 14.7

I don't know if you did anything, but if you did, thanks.
