Hi and thanks for yet another great project to crunch through
----------------------------------------I have noticed something slightly different about C4CW If my PC picks up a batch of Work Units which will then have the same finish time right down to the second then BOINC runs all the other WU's with the same end time (in my case HFCC) before it will run the C4CW's this is not even in alphabetical order so something is slightly different on the priority of the C4CW's as normally BOINC runs them from top to bottom regardless of WU type Just an observation - it doesn't stop BOINC finally getting around to the C4CW's it's just you guys are always last to get crunched which isn't quite right All the best with your research Dave ![]() |

The processing order is purely FIFO which is down to the microsecond exact from assignment time, which you cant see in BOINC unless you dig into the client state file.

Unless you have a special BOINC, not on the recommended list and or deadline issues due size of queue, BOINC will treat all WCG work as I said, FIFO. If there are deadline issues than that is highlighted in the status column.

I have the standard 6.2.28 and it isn't FIFOing the C4CW's
----------------------------------------It runs all of the HFCC's with the same end time as the C4CW's and then it runs the C4CW's so something is amiss ![]() |

Visit the Result Status page, hit the filter for In Progress and device name if you run more than one, update, them select sent time column header to sort on that criteria and copy paste list here. Without deadline issues that should produce the list and order in which tasks process. Once the Tasks view column has once been manually sorted it's not easy to reset the list so tasks appear in the true order of assignment.

LOL Sek
----------------------------------------I have been here since day 1 with over 17 years crunch time and have been involved in alpha and beta hardware and software trials most of my working life I know a software fault with WCG when I see one If the report deadline of a C4CW WU is the same as a HFCC WU and the HFCC WU is listed after the C4CW WU when sorted by report deadline then for the first time since day 1 of the WCG the HFCC WU will get crunched first and the C4CW second. This behavior is unusual Regards Dave ![]() |

David, I think this is what Sekerob needs to look at:
----------------------------------------Visit the Result Status page, hit the filter for In Progress and device name if you run more than one, update, them select sent time column header to sort on that criteria and copy paste list here. Without deadline issues that should produce the list and order in which tasks process. Once the Tasks view column has once been manually sorted it's not easy to reset the list so tasks appear in the true order of assignment. This should give him the info needed to check and be sure. Thanks ![]() ![]() |

Well as I said, it's per microsecond exact order which you will not see or can sort on in the client, but you can on the Result Status page, which of course as a first day member have already done, though your OP makes no indication you did. Suggest you do and and than compare the list to how you think it should process in BOINC, then tell us.
