Your globe will change color once your 'run time/project' reaches 365 days. There are 21 science projects, that means you need a total run time of 1 year x 21 = 21 years. SNURK, When one joins WCG there are far less projects available to crunch than the current historical total of 21. So your Globe really depends on two things, When one joins WCG and their computer(s). Take myself as an example: I became a member of WCG in 2011 and have participated in all available projects ever since for a total of 13 projects. As of today my RT/P as calculated with the WCG total of 21 is 1.96 (Emerald Globe) and when calculated with my member total of projects of 13 is 3.20 (Sapphire Globe). As the above quote represents many a question and concern about globes, I'd like to suggest a possible solution: insert into the center of the current “WCG 21 projects” Globe a smaller circle (the size of a #2 pencil eraser?) the color based on the maximum number of projects that a Member could have participated in. Going back to my example above I currently would have an Emerald Globe with a Sapphire center (doughnut hole comes to mind). And in a few days my globe would turn solid Sapphire. I do not know how difficult it would be to implement (Like you have nothing else to do.) but it sure would be cool... Just sitting here looking at the globes I thought of the Phases of the Moon as a variation on the doughnut hole approach. I really like your signatures the way they are : Brilliant! Rory |
