Yes! this question is asked on a regular basis. It's about time I put an explanation on www.wcgsig.com, as also suggested to me by a member in my mailbox.

I know. Unfortunately we had a short and very rare power outage yesterday where I live. The signature server didn't boot properly after power came back. It's up now, and waiting for the next update cycle.

I'm looking this Ranking list and it is pity that some are inactive (especially high scores). Can we do something to get them back? Yes, it's sad to see members go. For example, top dog (frog) on the list Mr. Kermit has been inactive for 200 days now. Another 165 days and he will vanish from the list. I'm sure everyone has their own individual reasons for leaving WCG or leaving distributed computing alltogether, but still it's a pity. Meanwhile they are missing all the fun with the new project!
