you need to put [ img ] http://wcgsig.250free.com/343941.gif [ /img ] around the image (remove the space's in the [] area...

To agree, or not to agree, Beta was not and is not considered as a research project. WCG in it's own press releases does not either... after all it's testing the pre-production line.

To agree, or not to agree, Beta was not and is not considered as a research project. WCG in it's own press releases does not either... after all it's testing the pre-production line. cheers True - although without the Beta testing, there wouldn't be a smooth a transition when implementing a new project. If it's to be 17, then that would be penalising those that help with the Beta testing - and also, if that is the case, why have we got a Beta badge that people are so desperate to get a hold off? |

The CPU time total stats includes the Beta value which is what SNURK is using to compute the Global level FAICS.
----------------------------------------edit: and indeed, if I take my total stats and divide by 17 I get 1.09 years. If I take out the Beta contribution I get 1.07 years. If I take total and divide by 18 I get 1.03 years. So, SNURK offered a signature for everyone to carry around the planet, so as the Dutch say, "Not looking into the gifted Horses' mouth". Let's enjoy.

Just say thanks to SNURK and let it go. The criteria was 17 projects which was in his/her announcement. Don't go and get all "I'm smarter" and second guess the design.
 In fact, by including Beta as the 18th project, every cruncher whose Beta points are less than the average of the other 17 projects IS PENALIZED as adding an 18th project will REDUCE the overall project average.  Adding the Beta points but not adding the 18th project improves the average.  Leave well enough alone.It's like there are a whole bunch of people who, if someone gives them a new computer, complain 'but its not a Quad'. Just say thanks. Thanks. |
