Whats the fourth tri-saphire globe? Think he means Run time/project; so someone has 6years on average run time per project; total runtime divided by number of projects, then divided by 6 (for 3 times two years). ... Back when I created two extra levels of earths above the standard maximum sapphire, I wondered if I was maybe stretching it, with the highest level.
----------------------------------------After all standard sapphire already requires 2 years average per project, thus 34 years total. The first extra level, III-sapphire (named tri-sapphire before) equals 3x2=6 years average, thus 102 years total. The top level named X-sapphire, until today untouched, equals 10x2=20 years average, so a total of 340 years. Today is proof that this was not over the top at all, as this amount of cpu years is dwarfed by the more than 900 years of MrKermit. ----------------------------------------In the SuperComputing world there's a list called the top500 (www.top500.org) that lists the fastest (publicly disclosed) systems. A follow on list, the Green500, retabulates the list based on energy efficiency. Someday we will need a way to encourage efficient systems and show off the most effient user/teams. I would love to see some notion of the efficiency (points/cpu hours?) represented somehow...maybe by the color of the continents changing... greener = more efficient?!
