I really want to believe this is not necessary but I am doing this anyway just to make sure.

No discussion of or comments on the results of the US elections set for Nov. 2nd or subsequent runoffs will be permitted here either in forum posts or in forum signatures.

I am afraid I have some very sad news to share. I just learned that Dave passed on this past Wednesday.
Arrangements are still being finalized but the family is looking at a charitable memorial in lieu of flowers.
I will let folks know more as soon as I receive it.
