Hi everyone !
I currently crunch with BOINC on WCG through my cpu's on linux. The thing is that I have a Nvidia 9800 GT which could be used to crunching aside with the cpu's. Is it technically feasible ? Or does gpu computing always pump up some cpu ? Let's say I put the cpu throttle on 50% and let the rest work with the gpu. No ? Thanks in advance. |

Hello eric489,
Currently none of our projects are compiled to run on a GPU. (The project scientists supply the project software. We just host it. We hope to have a GPU project on WCG by late 2011, but we can only hope since we are not in charge of project software.) Folding@Home is a non-BOINC project that runs on GPUs and BOINC has several projects coded for GPUs. Look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ or http://www.distributedcomputing.info/projects.html or http://www.gpugrid.net/ Lawrence |
