Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

The CEP team (including families) had a little farewell party on Sunday for Roberto. It was a nice opportunity to say Thank you! and wish him all the best for his postdoc in Princeton. You can check out the pictures here:

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Some of you will have already noticed from the pictures we posted over the last couple of day that Carlos Amador-Bedolla – our friend and collaborator from UNAM in Mexico City - has visited us here in Cambridge. It was good to have him back for a while.

Potosi, our CEP2 service workstation is happily churning out new workunits to keep the grid stocked.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We’ve been making some really nice progress with our results database called CEPDB and cannot wait till it’s ready for public release. This is gonna be great!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We had some bad news a few days ago: Leon, a very talented first-year grad student in the Applied Physics program, who had been rotating with the CEP team over the past year has ultimately decided to join another lab and do more experimental research. This is obviously very unfortunate for us as we would have loved to keep him on the team. During his time with us he worked on a number of problems ranging from data-mining to the modeling of exciton transfer. But that’s the way it goes – some just get away. We want to thank Leon for all the contributions he has made in his time with us and wish him all the best for his future. He’ll do fine, no doubt about it.
