A milestone for me - I have just passed my points total in my current team compared to my previous team.
---------------------------------------- It's all about the striving. I got bored being #1 in IBM UK for points, results and runtime so switched to IBM Eagle instead. I'll be #1 there in all 3 categories in about 3 months from now, and will then choose another team. What's interesting about these totals from a technical perspective is that the heavy lifting is done by my server at home, some additional work by my laptop and Android phone, both part time. I upgraded my server's processors whilst a member of IBM Eagle, so there are more cores and a slightly higher clock speed, which is why I comfortably exceeded the runtime and results some time ago and in rather less real time than the 18 months I was in the IBM UK team. However, you'll note that despite more and faster cores, the points total has lagged. Therefore, it's clear that points are not equal and 'older' points are worth more than new ones. My hunch is that for the majority of the time my hosts are 'trusted' and therefore have no wingmen - they get whatever points they ask for. When I switch projects and wingmen reappear because my hosts are not trusted, I tend to get a points uplift. Therefore I'm inclined to switch between projects more often but I don't know how long the host will remain 'trusted'. Does anyone know how long this is?   |

In The Netherlands we call that number "1 miljard" (1,000,000 we call "1 miljoen").
