I know that WCG is working hard to compile the other project to run faster on windows like they did with C4CW, but I am wondering if WCG should re-prioritize the feeder and give C4CW a bigger piece of the pie until the other projects are recompiled to run faster. Once the other project get recompiled to run faster, then bump them up to get more resources. WCG could even give it higher priority to make up for the lost crunching time. I mean wouldn't it be more efficient with the resources? I understand that WCG wouldn't want to stop crunching the other projects because some people want to exclusively crunch certain projects.

Putting more weight on C4CW specifically creates a whole lot of other share issues for those running mixes [including me], but don't do HCC presently, HCC the only science I'm aware of to get a speed-up treatment for known material slowness on Windows compared Linux-Mac. I think if considered, HCC would then have to be slowed down without favouring any other science that is in normal production.

Interesting, I thought all of the others (well maybe not HFCC since it is almost done and not HPF2 since they have similiar performance). Well if only HCC is being re-compiled, maybe reduce its weight until the re-compile is done? Although the HFCC badge chasers (me included) maybe affected by this, but I think most ppl would agree that making WCG more efficient is a good thing.
----------------------------------------BTW, is there an estimate of when it will be done? 1 month? 3 months? ![]() |

Is it possible to reduce the priority for Windows only? On 64-bit linux I wouldn't want to get reduced priority...

It's a grab-all from the hopper for all I know... it would impact Linux/Mac equally.
