I've been content to run CEP2 WUs one at a time - and I just got to silver. With normally about 1/2 day cache, there's time in between WUs, but that isn't a problem. I've noticed that when I'm using the CPU heavily for other applications, CEP2 does bog the machine down (it's the I/O and how poorly Windows handles it, not the CPU usage). I haven't seen that with any of the other applications. I often have to suspend CEP WUs if I'm doing anything else non-trivial on the system.
Changing gears and not to put too fine a point on it.... A week in Death Valley during August makes Texas almost look like Alaska. ![]() ![]() ![]() - D |

A week in Death Valley during August makes Texas almost look like Alaska. ![]() ![]() ![]() - D Yea, too bad that setting WCG added that lets you run more than one at a time wasn't a specific number rather than a yes/no thing. I'd love to be able to set it to 2. Running one at a time I thought meant that you got one CEP2 WU and didn't get another in your queue until that first one was crunched. Of course, I could break down and buy some more memory. That would definitely help. Yes, Death Valley gets hot. I've been there though not in August. I think it was either May or September of 2000 as part of the "Great Roadtrip". The thing is, while Death Valley may get to be 10-20 degrees hotter, Texas is a whole lot bigger! ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by keithhenry at May 8, 2011 4:15:57 AM] |

Gerald, have a look at using this for your forum signature:
----------------------------------------{img}tinyurl.com/pnqbmh{/img}{img}bit.ly/aYeyFq{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/y76gsnu{/img}{img}tinyurl.com/2surhk{/img}{img}1.usa.gov/ltivhz{/img} {img}bit.ly/aJorXU{/img} You'll need to change the { and } to [ and ] too. Currently, it's so wide that I can't see all of your posts unless I have the browser full-screened. When it's not full-screened, posts normally get automatically resized to fit but the width of the forum signature becomes the minimum width. When that's wider than the window, it doesn't show all of the post and doesn't resize it. |

That's fine Gerald. Thanks! It seems that the width of someone's signature defines the smallest that the browser can be when not full-screen and not have to scroll right and left to read each line of the post. Not sure if that's the browser or the forum software but keeping the signature width down helps readability for those without the big monitors.
