Re: UK

Got my Ruby badge for FAAH, so now I'm crunching on a 5 project mix to get the remaining Ruby badges. Currently I'm estimating completetion on 3rd Jan 2013 but with a bit of tweaking and micro-management (& the co-operation of the P/V gaoler), I'm hoping to complete by 31st Dec! wink

And I just realised today is my WCG 1st birthday. cool biggrin

Having started the Ian Dury convo I looked him up on Wiki. I didn't know he was ALW's first choice to write the libretto for Cats. He declined "I can't stand his music. ... I said no straight off. I hate Andrew Lloyd Webber. He's a w**k*r, isn't he? ... [E]very time I hear 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' I feel sick, it's so bad. He got Richard Stilgoe to do the lyrics in the end, who's not as good as me. He made millions out of it. He's crap, but he did ask the top man first!"

I remember Richard Stilgoe from That's Life and he' certanly done well since then. wink

Re: UK

Don't know how many people read the other forums, but the Notices section of my client linked this announcement in the GFAM section:

https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,34265

It's nice to see that the run-time we're donating is actually helping assist in discovering useful information to help in the fight against the diseases being researched.

Re: UK

As Thargor says, good to know that our crunching does seem to have provided a possible step towards winning the fight.

Now, That's Life, more childhood memories!

Re: UK

I understand from elsewhere in the forum that it's impossible to delist a device from WCG?
That probably makes a list of the top 10 UK team members by # devices worthless thinking
	Name Devices Avg RT pd
(Nov)

crooks_uk 152 28.0
dmc_1970 90 4.1
gibbcorp 48 1.0
European.Citizen 44 0.0
bzsmith 43 0.1
t0ka 43 15.5
MarkRM 43 0.6
dubmail.net 42 2.1
Mike_UK 40 0.0
djerram 38 1.3

The UK team's 87 Currently Active members muster 1,187 devices between them. worried

Re: UK

Yep, not sure number of devices is a worthwhile stat - just installing a new version of BOINC triggered a new device for me. I've got 8 devices according to WCG, but only really have 2, the consequence of various upgrades over the years. If you could identify the number of devices that had returned a WU in the last month, that would be pretty cool and would give us a better idea of what we have running.

As always johnnieb-uk, very grateful for everything you do for us.
