Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 51 smilesmile

Methinks a bunch of folks are like me - have gotten a number of betas over the last day or two and quite a few of them are in the PV jail. A large part of what I did today was betas and them going to PV was bad enough to drop me out of the Top 20 even. Ah well, the next few days could well be better than usual as these get out of PV.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 51 smilesmile

Evening Gang. I have Beta work units turned on and have been getting a bunch of them. It is "Beta - FightAIDS@Home 6.40"

Everyone have a good evening. CYA in the morning smile

What is your secret for Beta's--Mornin all smile

RT may do it with queue size. I've found setting my machines to accept betas and ask for DDDT2 when there are none get me betas when they have them. All but two of the 85 betas I've done have come since DDDT2 started. I think it's basically asking for work for something they have none for when they have betas that gets them.

I have been stuck at 26 days for beta for a long time and I just found out I have 3 betas for FAAH (one is valid) and 13 for HPF2. This should get me much closer to the silver badge. I don't know what may have happened to make the beta WUs more available, but I am not going to question it now. I have only 56 HCCs in PV status where yesterday it was over 120.

See the latest in the Beta Test Announcements forum. WCG is testing some new download servers. Someone speculated that there's a new project in the works that is going to have bigger downloads than past projects so WCG is having to do some reconfiguring (betas are testing that) to handle the expected load. I've gotten two more days in betas with the two more days I need to bronze on Beta in PV and in queue. I signed up for betas not long after they started them and only got two over the years - until DDDT2 showed up and I started asking for woth when there was none but there were betas. Now here I am 91 more complete and about a dozen in PV and in queue. Go figure.....

Yea, especially the HCC and CEP2.

Well, from what I understand, the point of the beta is to test some new download servers. I'm not sure that the WUs themselves have the same level of "optimizing" as normal production WUs.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 51 smilesmile

I was a bit disappointed that I did not get any betas for CEP2, but after just getting back from town, I did see a beta waiting to run for CEP2.
