RIP my old computer friend !

i feel the need to share this with you sad

my old computer named ThePlayer died last weekend,
he was an E6600 2 cores on a mini mobo from zotac.
he was headless, no keyboard no monitor, vnc controled ...
he was giving 1 of his cores on full 7/7 24/24 to crunching all his life...
the other core was doing sporadic stuff for me ...
he had few friends on my LAN they will continue crunching alone ...

parts of him will survive, i don't know yet if it the cpu of the mobo who is busted... anyway some other parts of him will survive probably in one of his friends ...

RIP my friend ThePlayer, im missing you smile

Re: RIP my old computer friend !

Ironically,
I just got my 2600K working great.
Now my 6 year old laptop died on me.
It was just crunching CEP2 cuz I didn't care if it died...
Total crunching was 1 year 280 days or so.
It was my last win XP box, I can't play axis & allies anymore
in the dark corner of my basement.

Oh well I was wanting room for BULLDOZER, (only have room
for 4 comps :)

the mobo was busted, i got that zotac mini itx since less than 2years.
i rma it (cost $16 to send it to California), not sure i'll have another zotac mobo...
the E6600 was new on it, all other parts were recycling form left over.
my socket 775 stock of parts start to fade away slowly
i will have to move more to 1155 and ... maybe with an 2600k wink
