I have an "AXE" to pick with you all and maybe you do too!!!!

You are probably all wondering what this is all about. Let me start by saying that the "AXE" I have to pick with you all is my new Martin D35 Acoustic Guitar and I love it. I bought it in 2009 and it's one of the best Guitars that I have ever bought. Not too expensive, of course that depends on how one rates what expensive is, but so well made and quite spectacular sound. Superb Bass due to the 3 piece back and the string balance and playability is quite impressive as well.
Another Jem of an AXE, that I bought in 1982 new, is a Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar with a Maple neck. Not too many of these Gibson€™s Les Paul Customs were made with a Maple neck. The Maple neck gives the Les Paul Customs excellent sustain (strings vibrate for a long time).

Maybe you can tell us about the instruments you own and play or just collect

PS. Funny, but I remember a University Study, many years ago, that reached the ears of both my Parents that stated that an Electric Guitar is a Gate Way to drugs. And due to this €œinsanity€, it took me a very long time to get my Parents to buy me an Electric Guitar. LOL

Re: I have an "AXE" to pick with you all and maybe you do too!!!!

ah ha.......another guitar player.
I've been playing electric guitar for over 40 years now, and I'm as mad as a hatter :)
I sold my old guitar earlier this year It was a '62 Strat customized with a Gibson pick up on the neck and individual switches for each pick up.
Amps I have had in the past are Vox AC 50, Marshall 100w stack with 2 4x12 cabs, Fender Twin reverb, Mesa boogie Nomad 55. I currently am playing through a Mesa Boogie Lone Star Special.
The guitar I use on stage is a Squier Strat fitted with Fender Noisless pick ups, and retro fitted with an original Fender 3-way switch. For effects I use a Boss GT-10 Guitar effects processor.

I also have several acoustic guitars and a Tanglewood Bass. cool

I never owned Mesa Boogie but I played through one about 5 years ago. It can put out the sound big time....nice amp Guitar Man.
I own a Fender Dual Showman 100 Watt Tube Amp that I bought in 1982 new. And the knobs are RED not the usual black. I also owned a Fender American Made Strat but it was stolen and I really miss it and I'm planning to buy a new Strat perhaps in about a year.
Do you remember the Sears Silvertone Guitars? That was my first guitar. Yeah, I do go back a few years.

Actually, I've never heard of them. It must be a US thing. I'll Google it later
