You know you shouldn't as it reduces their lifespan and you are told it makes no difference

Crucial, one of the best memory chip experts in the world offers the following advice:

You might notice that Win7 and the new Win8 automatically keep you from attempting a defrag on an SSD. Lastly, what you might consider as defrag on a ssd is a built in process known as TRIM.
