CPU Reading

Hi,

Am new here and was just wondering if the program running my system tray is prone to a few mistakes? Mine is claiming I am running on a P3 1.5ghz CPU but I am on a P4 1.7ghz chip?

Also, I would like to create a new team and have people from my workplace sign up to it. Could anyone please advise how I would go about this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: CPU Reading

Welcome aboard smile

The 1.5 ghz rig is just the benchmark rig for comparitive purposes.
The stats for your own cpu will change when you return a result....that is when your chip will be benchmarked.

The rating for your cpu is the bottom of the two.

With regards starting your own team....I will leave that for a more eloquent speaker than I.

But if you hit the stats tab up top...then go to teams....then click teams created....an option to create your own team will show on the left hand side.

Tom --

It is about as easy as Vaio said. You can get to "create a team" from the "Statistics" page as he indicated or "My Grid" (also a selection on the bar at the top). Click on "My Team" and there will be a "create a team" selection available. When you get there, you will be asked for a team name, a description and you can list a home page for your team. When you have finished, click "save" and you are done. I believe that you will be made team captain by default. I am not sure how you might go about changing that at a later time if you wish.

Welcome to the Grid and happy crunching.

Re: CPU Reading

From what I heard, Team Captains are usually the person who started it. If there is a second person on the team, and the Captain leaves, the second becomes captain. It goes down the list until there is noone left. Then the team is free, and the first person to rejoin is Captain once again, as I just saw with Vaio's team... anyways, that's my understanding of team captains, correct me if im wrong. smile
