The DSFL_00000093_0000028_0342 WU have a problem. It is returned as "Inconclusive". Can our admin check it?
Thank you. |

Until the additional wingman has completed the run and verification has turned into Invalid, there is no problem. Plz confirm once the re-validation has been completed [probably within the next 24-48 hours], the most likely outcome though being that your result after second opinion is declared valid. If it turns invalid, post copy of the result log [click on link in status column]
----------------------------------------For description refer to FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 --//-- edit: Sometimes an AMD CPU will not produce a matching result to an Intel CPU for DSFL and GFAM. If this happens frequently for particular machine it's recommended to deselect the science that produces frequent invalids and or associate the device to a separate profile that does not have the problem science selected. Well... just to add to the conversation... I also have an inconclusive DSFL WU and the interesting part is that so do 2 of my wingmen for the same WU:
----------------------------------------DSFL_ 00000093_ 0000015_ 0332_ 3-- - In Progress DSFL_ 00000093_ 0000015_ 0332_ 2-- 624 Inconclusive DSFL_ 00000093_ 0000015_ 0332_ 0-- 619 Inconclusive DSFL_ 00000093_ 0000015_ 0332_ 1-- 619 Inconclusive I understand how the inconclusive WUs are handled (been through it before), but I've never seen 2 other wingman get inconclusive WU also. So... I'll wait until it gets sorted out. CJSL ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by cjslman at Jan 8, 2012 1:40:52 PM] |

Look at the versions of the different results... once the next comes in either processed by a 6.24 or a 6.19 science app, I'd expect validation to succeed and others to be marked [one off in this transition] Invalid ;).
----------------------------------------Thought by now the BOINC system was able to connect a wingman to the [old] app if there was an upgrade and think to have read, that at least BOINC 7 has the capacity. Maybe techs like to comment on this, as how this is going to work with future server/client release. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 5, 2012 2:18:06 PM] |

We have identified an issue in the homogenous class assignment for both this project and gfam. We are working at resolving both.

FYI: I got the same thing - mine was declared invalid.

We have just updated the server code to have AMD cpus only be compared against other AMD cpus and same for Intel. The exception is AMD FX cpus which were matching results from Intel cpus. This change was just released and will only effect work distributed from this point forward.

It is good that AMD-cpus will be compared against each other and not to an Intel-cpu or an Intel-reference. The principle is sound. Good move there, knreed !

My FX8150 has been up for about a day now so I'll allow a few results from these two sciences on it and see how they fare.

It is good that AMD-cpus will be compared against each other and not to an Intel-cpu or an Intel-reference. The principle is sound. Good move there, knreed ! ![]() ; edit1: punctuation. The techs actually try to avoid HR restrictions beyond OS *because* the more narrowing the CPU/OS groups are, the more complex the WU distribution becomes to the point that finding wingman could get troublesome, hindering the distributor flow [HCMD2 from recollection requiring the most detailed CPU groupings]. The AMD-FX is *not* a problem to match to Intel CPU's for GFAM/DSFL and therefore in the strictest sense do *not* require an exception, so are confirming findings by members. :D Noteably at some point in time a platform was completely taken out to receive WU's from a project simply because there were too few matches causing batch completions to stall, clogging the system. --//-- P.S. Off and on mentioned, added the HR topic to the FAQ Index, Research section. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 6, 2012 9:24:52 AM] |
