Boinc as a service.

Sorry forgot how to do this.

Want to change 6.12.34 to a service without loosing the downloaded WUs.

Found that when the laptop (Win7) reboots over night, BOINC stops until I login.

It was running as a service before I upgraded the BOINC version.

Thanks,
Patrick

Re: Boinc as a service.

Uninstall BOINC [run the installer and select Remove], then install again per the screenshot under item 4 in this FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,28971

This normally works lossless.

Re: Boinc as a service.

Hello pcwr,
If you are running a simple stock installation, just uninstall then reinstall then reboot. I would suspend my projects in BOINC Manager first and check immediately after rebooting. Here is the installation FAQ : http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=344
