Re: Say No to Schistosoma Project Recognition Thread

This project has really taken off! Information page is quite interesting explanation of the importance of this disease. Congratulations to all the new badge winners! Should be Blue by Saturday.

Re: Say No to Schistosoma Project Recognition Thread

... PV jail is stacking up as the power crunchers get their sapphires, I suspect :)
Not claiming to be a power cruncher, but personally I suspect that it is mainly the power crunchers who have the smallest cache and thus are waiting for the recreational crunchers who gobble up a week or more WU-supply. wink

With an average of about 20 CPU-days/calendar-day, I notice that my PV-list is "as good as always" longer than my IP-list.

And that PV-list is exactly where my green snail is hiding at the moment. Hope to flush that one out by Sunday. I mistrust the current red snail.

Theres my blue snail biggrin

And I have to agree with rembertw, tends to be the recreational crunchers who create the PV jail time.
I consider myself a moderate/strong cruncher with about 70 days per day output and my cache is always at half a day

Re: Say No to Schistosoma Project Recognition Thread

If the "Set & Forget" 9 to 5 office machines are considered recreational, than yes, but they are in fact the biggest portion that cause these ;>). Typically you'll see weekend spiking of PV jail because those machines with whatever is in progress on them wont get completed until Sunday Night - Monday/Tuesday [depends on timezone]. These devices are bound to run with cache defaults [low]

Re: Say No to Schistosoma Project Recognition Thread

I had never given consideration to the "Set & Forget" 9 to 5 Mon-Fri office machines and the impact that they would cause and it makes total sense to do so. I wonder how many processing hours are lost when the machines are switched off (without caches being saved beforehand).

Would it be possible to have a power profile created which would monitor the 'power off' activity so that WUs could be paused before the machine powers down and have this profile made optional in the initial WCG setup procedure?
