Thread: Installation hang and 1500 error |

When I tried to install the grid software the installation process was hung for several minutes. I stopped this process and tried to reinstall.
However now I get a 1500 error saying I need to complete the first install. How can I correct this error, so I can install the software on my machine?? |

I am unfamiliar with a 1500 error. Is there some reason you cannot just delete C:/Program Files/WorldCommunityGrid and reinstall from the website, checking the 'Previous Member' option, using the same logon and password, and changing the Device Name by adding a number to it, such as 1?
What are the symptoms of this error? mycrofth |

I am guessing that this might be an error from the Install Sheild per http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=Q107731
This apparently could happen if an install is aborted leaving a particualr registry key set. Try rebooting and installing anew as indicated in the above article. Otherwise, there appears to be a tool available for fixing the problem. If you are not able to fix this with the above, we can try to work through this using our support link. |
