After searching most of this morning I have not found a solution for 6.12.34(x64) so...
----------------------------------------First I renamed my PC and the new name showed up under Device Manager and all was well. Later I changed the name of my User Account. After rebooting I have been unable to get my WCG projects started. Also got messages that my password was invalid  |

Redux for you maybe, but the account renaming is irrelevant. The handshake is done at a numeric ID level which does not change when putting on a new face on the member account. Presume that we are talking windows, where a device rename requires the device to be booted before the LAN knows of the new name and it then being communicated to the WCG server.
But, I'm assuming... you're of course talking about the User Account on the comp. Well, 65000 USD question is how you installed BOINC... user level or service level? At service level and "allow all users", it would not be relevant but at a user level install I'm not sure what BOINC thinks as to who's got rights. Cant remember to ever have renamed an account on the computer. Run the installer and choose Repair. Maybe that fixes the issue. --//-- |

----------------------------------------Repair worked like a charm. To answer your questions for the install I took the "allow all users" option and it was the User Account on my computer. Thanks to you I know about changing the WCG User Account name and not being able to "keep or combine" post and project badges with a new name. Thank you and thank you again! |
