Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

Or is it just me biggrin ..again?

The are from the SN2S_ABG21809 batch

They arrived just after the CFSW Beta which didn't run nicely at all.

In each case my "wingman" (on SN2S) suffered the same

Back on HCC to see if I can post some reliable results again...or maybe I've broken my Bulldozer tired

biggrin Re: Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

I've been running a bunch of SN2S lately. Initially my problem was getting any WUs to crunch at all since so many bigger crunchers out there seemed to be doing such a good job of sucking up everything to get their emerald badges there didn't seem to be much left for us little guys to get a piece of the action. But I've figured out how to get a steady stream of SN2S WUs now and slowly working on my badge as well (just hit bronze in the past week!).

Now as far as the inconclusives, yes I've had a bunch of those too for SN2S and a number of other projects too when I do a steady stream of only one project WUs at a time. I find that many WUs will end up in inconclusive since I get my WUs done within 1-3 days of when I get them in my queue, and it quite often it takes 5-10 days for wingman to get their crunching done. The fact that your seeing a bunch of SN2S inconclusives now probably is an indication that more of us little crunchers are now getting in on the action and when you running WUs on a family laptop or several year old computer for the good of humanity, it sometimes takes 5+ days to crunch those WUs and send them back. As others will note, it just takes some patience to deal with them and in time those inconclusives get resolved (in the past month or so some of my inconcusives for some WUs have taken up to 2 weeks for wingman to get their stuff back - so I know it can take awhile).

Keep the faith and keep on crunching!!!!

Re: Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

Hi rbotterb

The ones where the "little crunchers" so called get a look in should be in pending validation

I'm happy when they are in there - that's cool. There's no such thing as a little cruncher here on the WCG, we are all hero's

It's just that these are inconclusives heading towards invalids thinking

My cruncher is good - the hydraulics on the Bulldozer haven't failed me - I have it returning valid results now on the HCC project

It looks like a dodgy batch folks

I'm heading (temporarily) elsewhere until they pass on by - so I can get back to producing useful science results instead of just keeping my room warm wink

Re: Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

David,

As of the last week or so (don't know exactly when) all of the Vina sciences started going inconclusive on my bulldozer as well. Everything else does just fine so I'd say something happened server side with the matching. Hopefully enough will show up to make the techs take note and look at it. This can't be happening to just us.

Re: Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

sad
The 3 VINA projects need a separate validation class for AMD Bulldozer. knreed has not had the time to set one up and might not ever unless the numbers in the class go up. For the moment, do not run any VINA projects (GOFAM, SN2S, DSFL) on Bulldozer.

Those VINA projects have been running fine for quite a while. It is only recently that they started going inconclusive/invalid. Judging by posts made earlier by knreed, I'd say he changed the class or removed it entirely.

Re: Anyone else suffering with a big bag of inconclusives?

David,

In this problem here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,32920_offset,0#372147 I'm actually referring to your computer. We had the AMD FX computers in their own HR class, but there weren't enough of them to keep from clogging up SN2S and preventing everyone from getting work. What is odd, is that in the test that I did, I split half of your results to be paired with Intel machines and half to be paired with AMD machines. The intel machines became valid. However, looking at your results still in the database, you have 99 invalid and 10 valid.

I'm going to go ahead and add the hr class for AMD FX back in for the VINA projects, but can I ask that you avoid selecting only SN2S so that we can avoid clogging up the project? We will have to think on whether there is another solution or not.

Ok - the AMD FX on Linux class is back in place.
