Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed?

Well, it's still not acting as if my cache is at 0.0, Lawrence, even after following your advice. I even forced an update via Boinc Manager.

I'm gonna try to change my "Connect to network..." from 0.0 up to 0.5, and force another update via Boinc Manager, and see if that helps. This is getting quite frustrating.

Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed?

Ok, while I was trying to get it working properly, it did this in the message log:

6/29/2012 11:26:25 AM | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
6/29/2012 11:26:25 AM | World Community Grid | Reporting 48 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU
6/29/2012 11:26:43 AM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 47 new tasks

However, it never actually uploaded anything, or downloaded new tasks, as they're definitely nowhere to be found. I'm scratching my head here as to what's really going on now. :(

Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed?

Ok, closed down my Boinc Manager and restarted it. Here's the message log, hope this helps someone figure out what's happening, as I'm still only able to get a cache of 0.0.

confused
Blank mind. smile
Look at everything. Results Status ought to show what tasks the server thinks are in your cache.

Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed?

Well, Lawrence, the Results Status page shows over 9 pages (136 total work units) "In Progress". The problem is that they're not showing up in my Boinc Manager! Where the heck ARE they?

Show All Tasks selected?

BAM! Thanks skgiven! That was it! I never even noticed it was on the "active" tasks only being shown. Boy do I feel kinda ridiculous now. LOL!

Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed?

Now if Boinc just showed all the local settings in the logs we would have seen that straight off. Suggested this gets done ages ago.

Re: Cache in site prefs not being observed? [RESOLVED]

Think the best is to edit the OP title quickly and insert [RESOLVED], the let it sink out of view. Work does not come out of nowhere and does not disappear into nowhere.

--//--

P.S. Be warned, next time you hit the "No new tasks" button, and you forget and only see "No tasks being send or requested" in the message log, there's more bold bald spot forming. There's no printing each time that "Work fetch was suspended for project XYZ" ;P
