SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

Greetings,

The beta test for SN2S 64 Bit on Windows and Linux went well. We are releasing these two versions of the binary with version 6.20. This will match the same version number for 32 bit.

We are working on resolving the issue for Mac 64 bit and hope to have a new beta test soon for it. [edit: This has been resolved and we are now sending out Mac 64 Bit -Uplinger]

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

I have received a 32 bit work unit executing as wcgrid_sn2s_vina_6.20_windows_intelx86.
It is running wth priority 6 and not the usual priority 4. It also says it requires an ATI GPU!

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

My first thought was a misidentified task, but it appears to be a normal SNS2 task that was running 19 minutes and a total duration of 4:12:00 when you copied that screen. The properties screen has a generic set of info lines, and presume that the GPU bit is just always there when enabled, and if not, can be ignored. Does not explain the high priority processing [printed in tasks view as "Running, high priority" or similar. What is/was the deadline on that task? [Now 8 hours later, it's probably done]

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

It is even more odd even after a full shutdown overnight.
I have 9 work units running on a i7-2600k but only one says it is this pseudo-GPU type.
There are also 2 pseudo-GPU type in status waiting to run.
The one running is a repair task. The waiting to run ones have a normal 10 day deadline.

Can you look at the client_state.xml file (In the BOINC data directory) and cut and paste the section for the sn2s app versions:

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

I hope this is what you are looking for. The ncpus and coproc look odd for 32 bit version.
I only noticed the strange fields after yesterday's GPU beta but some of the work units were downloaded 12 hours before the beta.

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

Those values are totally wrong (but match the hcc1 beta values):

Can you do the following? Change your projects to only accept work for sn2s, abort all in progress and cached work, and then do a reset for World Community Grid?

Immediately after the first response from WCG that assigns work, save the sched_reply_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file and post the information about the sn2s app version.

Then take a look at the client_state.xml and repost the values that you did above.

Thanks - and sorry for the extra work.

Re: SN2S 64 Bit Applications Released

Sorry for the delay in replying as I was not near my machine yesterday.
I allowed 2 of the pseudo GPU SN2S units to complete - they reported OK and validated.
I aborted the other the pseudo GPU SN2S units from my cache.
Other SN2S units ran OK but I think these were 64 bit.

I have tried to report in detail my actions for the information you have requested:
Set no new tasks
abort 'ready to start' units
allow running units to finish and upload
report finshed tasks
Normal overnight shutdown
Morning startup
Additional cache to 0.1 days
stop BOINC client
copy BOINC data directory and rename BOINC_prereset
start BOINC client and wait 3 minutes
reset project
set allow new tasks
downloads begin of tasks and other files
SN2S work units begin running
I thought downloads were complete
stop BOINC client
copy BOINC data directory and rename BOINC_postreset
start BOINC client
further downloads of other files occurs
SN2S work units begin running again
check no transfers are in progress
stop BOINC client
copy BOINC data directory and rename BOINC_postreset2
start BOINC client
SN2S work units begin running again
All SN2S tasks have x86_64 in executable name - it is the only way I have of distinguishing 32 or 64 bit

from client_state.xml:
<app_version>
<app_name>sn2s</app_name>
<version_num>620</version_num>
<platform>windows_x86_64</platform>
<avg_ncpus>1.000000</avg_ncpus>
<max_ncpus>1.000000</max_ncpus>
<flops>3586699988.316382</flops>
<api_version>7.1.0</api_version>
<file_ref>
<file_name>wcgrid_sn2s_vina_6.20_windows_x86_64</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
<file_ref>
<file_name>wcgrid_sn2s_vina_prod_x86_64.exe.6.20</file_name>
<open_name>AutoDockVina64.exe</open_name>
</file_ref>
<file_ref>
<file_name>wcgrid_sn2s_gfx_prod_x86_64.exe.6.20</file_name>
<open_name>graphics_app</open_name>
</file_ref>

.
<file_ref>
<file_name>sn2s_image42_6.20.tga</file_name>
<open_name>SNS_Slide19.tga</open_name>
</file_ref>
</app_version>

This was the only <app_version> for WCG I could find.

I do not understand what you wanted from the sched_reply_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file
