nonoprobe said: @cjslman: you said: I'm currently running 6.10.58.<--- That is most likely your problem. Update boinc. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=6698&sort=5#45639 For my experience, I upgraded from 6.10.58 to the latest release 7.0.28 version and still got Invalids, except for 2 WUs that got marked as Valid (2 out of maybe ~20 I received during the BETA period). Never could figure out why the Invalids even with the latest video driver, just assumed some hardware spec was lower or missing on that older card than what the newer/more expensive cards have. It's a mystery. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@nanoprobe - I also updated my boinc to the latest version, also updated all of the drivers for the card. I have never seen my 5450 return a valid result.

My 5450 also didn't ever return a valid result. So I updated to the latest BOINC version - no success. Some data:
----------------------------------------Windows 7-64 ATI 5450, 512MB BOINC 7.0.28 (x64) Catalyst 12.8 Astropulse 5 results were valid when I had the ATI work on that some time ago. Regards, Martin ![]() |

Yesterday I upgraded from 7.0.28 to 7.0.36 and also updated my AMD drivers from 12.8 to 12.10 and voila, no more invalids (*touching wood*) even when running 4 WUs in parallel on my HD7970. Try it out. (I did not uninstall old drivers, however it is probably a good thing to do just to be on the safe side).

Have also a Cedar (FirePro 2270). on PCIe 16x.
----------------------------------------The Work is done with Boinc 7.0.31/x64). A lot of WU's are valid, and some are Invalid. don't know why. Have also a APU 3850 with HD 6550D on the same Mainboard. This WU's are all valid. Will deinstall Boinc 7.0.31 and upgrade to Boinc 7.0.36/x64) in the next hours and hope there is a fix.

Try updating boinc to 7.0.36 and drivers to 12.11 beta. Uninstall both before you update to the newer versions. I updated the driver to 12.10 (beta is not something I seriously want to have as a graphics driver on my home computer). No success - still all are invalid. I updated BOINC to 7.0.36. Again, all results are invalid. Anyone out there with an ATI 5450/512MB who gets VALID results? Regards, Martin ![]() |

Anyone out there with an ATI 5450/512MB who gets VALID results? The 5450 used to be on the known not to work list, but I just checked and it's no longer listed. ![]() |
