All of them running BOINC on Windows 8, and installed under a MS account ;?... yes it's a comedy, hard to believe already 3 "reliable" hosts have failed to respond in time in the alloted 2.8 days, when these wingman are known to return a result within 48 hours.

For something that took a grand total of 172 seconds to complete, 15 days seems excessive for a validation. Maybe I'll get it back and get to be my own wingman.

I've got some of those too but they're only on #4 with 3 no replies.

I've got a boat load in the same condition, multiple resends because of No Reply by wingman. The other side of that coin is that I've been getting about 60 WUs per day closing with No Reply. The problem is I never received the WUs to process. I've gone back in the logs and it appears that many of them are associated with either the error message:
----------------------------------------"Can't parse workunit in scheduler reply: unexpected XML tag or syntax" "No close tag in scheduler reply" or that my client is rejecting them because I don't have the 625 HCC app defined in my app_info.xml. Before GPU HCC started I was getting a few a week for GFAM like this. Now it's anywhere between 40-60 HCC per day. So it seems to me that the problem may not be one of poor wingmen alone but that the client and server are not communicating properly.

I don't see the 6.56 binaries on any of my machines. Unless there's a way to download the old 6.56 binaries, these may never get cleared. |

hmm, so there's the closing tag missing message re-appearing in large numbers [reported on that few days ago], and lost 656 apps. Yes server 700 is faithful to app versions... original processed by version X, all wingman required to do it too with version X. Regrettably, how it works is with multiple versions, the client [7?] erases the non current app versions soon as the cache of a older version is depleted [There's no copy left on my 7.0.38 clients]. This was why the techs at some point renumbered 640 of HCC to 656, so the wiping would stop. Thought that having been fixed.
Whilst, understood that 705 was backward compatible i.e. this version could act as wingman, but since the server insists on having wingman doing it with the same version... kind of a Joseph Heller situation. Calling techs! |

I have to admit, that I am also among those bigger "No Reply crunchers". I had full load of 6.56's, but when I changed app info file from 6.56 to 7.05 they disappeared from my BOINC Manager, but stayed somewhere in vacuum waiting to be marked as "No Reply". I would like to apologize to you who are (were) waiting for them ![]() Cheers and NI! Edit to add: Seems it is very important to detach all non-started tasks and wait for started ones to finish prior doing such changes in app info file. ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Looks like anyone running an app_info for version 7.05 and receives version 6.56 resends is having them all discarded and reported as no reply.
