I have run out of GPU work.

And I will be out shortly.

EDIT: I'm starting to get new tasks again as of 11:35 EST.

Re: [Fixed]Running out of GPU WUs fast!!!

I've been watching my cache drop down then slowly fill then drop again this AM. Also, I've been getting a ton of "No Reply" WUs on the app_info controlled windows machines, so I went back and checked Uplinger's post which seems to be clear that 7.08 is not being released for windows.
We have recently released version 7.08 for HCC1. The only versions affected are the Mac Intel version to fix a bug with older versions of the operating system. Also, the release of Linux for GPU on ATI and NVIDIA.

Note: versions not listed above will remain at the 7.05 version number.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

What it looks like to me is that there is a shortage of HCC-GPU work and/or the servers are having problems. I'm seeing a lot of "Tasks are committed to other platforms" and "No tasks are available for Help Conquer Cancer" + "Tasks for CPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them" messages. In addition my log is filled with "project Servers may be down" and HTTP errors followed by tasks expired messages. I haven't been able to find any evidence that my windows devices are being sent and rejecting 7.08 HCC-GPU task.

Re: [Fixed]Running out of GPU WUs fast!!!

... [who knows], as what I posted in other thread, in a reply to you, another round of size-up may be needed. There might not be enough shared memory slots to service the many [overlapping] requests. Running that zero buffer trick to stop being inundated with work could be detrimental after all. Me thinketh, the GPU crunchers do well with version 7 to run MinB at 0.0 and MaxAB with e.g. 0.05. that reduces the request load. This setting combo essentially regulates the refill to 0.05 days [about 1 hour], but client wont do a new work request until the total buffer does drop down to 0.0, or to explain it differently, the client fetches work one time and wont ask again until it again hits the 0.00 point. In effect, WCG sets a limit of task assignments per call, 15 IIRC, so never you should get swamped with a small, but not zero MaxAB buffer setting.

4 machines now dry here.

A chance to catch you wink
I have 5 days worth of cache biggrin
Four hours ago I put a new HD 7970 board with my Pluto rig in orbit. As I had an Nvidia board that I switched I had to restart. For about two hours I got no tasks at all. The machine was Idle. Then tasks started coming in and filling slowly the cache. So all seems fine for the moment.

Re: [Fixed]Running out of GPU WUs fast!!!

Could Hypernova's cache actually be related to this dry patch everyone else is experiencing? How does one get 5 days worth of cache? I never see more than an hour or two ....
