Now that I am at sapphire for all of the currently active projects, I started crunching all of them but have settled in to HCC only. Before they fell off my Results Status, I looked at points per CPU hour and found that the difference by project would amount to less than 100 points per core per day.

Dave, my stats program currently handles recognizing results up to two million. At 100,000, the interval bumps up to 25,000. It starts out 100. Points are up to 500,000,000. With these two, the intervals periodically increase as the number gets up there. Runtime is always years. Keith, thanks for the information. Only questions left are: (1) Does the interval increase beyond 25,000 for results? (2) What are the intervals for points? |

Why we crunch (that and my mom is a 15 year breast cancer survivor ) - http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/...mmunity-article-1.1299780 That brought tears to my eyes ![]() Published December 26, 2012 http://www.lifescript.com/health/news/reuters...e_tied_to_treatments.aspx Gerald, there are some major breakthroughs happening in treating cancer in the last few years. Just as most mechanics, roofers, painters, lawyers, etc are hard working honest people, there are a few that cheat, scam, and only care about the money. The same applies to doctors I'm sure. Get to the April 1st issue of Time magazine. There's been a fundamental change in how cancer research is being done and, as crazy as it may sound, Hollywood is behind it. Even the NIH is changing to this approach. They've learned that breast and ovarian cancers have a lo9t in common and doctors that treated one or the other are working together. There's even a doctor who's managed to DOUBLE the two year survival rate for pancreatic cancer - from 4 percent to 9 percent. Pancreatic cancer has long proven to be the toughest to deal with. It's been seen as an automatic death sentence but we're starting to see the beginnings of real hope that that is going to change. If you get diagnosed with cancer and your oncologist is not well acquainted with research that's happened in the last 6-12 months, it could make a major difference in your outcome. They're looking at cancers on the genetic and cellular level. Biopsies can go to five different labs for five different kinds of analysis. Together, those results can enable doctors to target a combination of drugs specific to your cancer. In effect, they can put you in a clinical trial in under a year versus the 8-10 years that has been the norm in the past. They've been able to treat one terminal lukemia patient and had all traces of the cancer disappear in just eight days. I'm no doctor by any means and much of what I've read in the past year is hard to fully understand but I believe the cancer landscape ten years from now, maybe even five, will be totally different than it is now. It's amazing to read about how it's changing! |

Only questions left are: (1) Does the interval increase beyond 25,000 for results? (2) What are the intervals for points? Okay, I updated my stats program to handle results up to 5 million and points up to 1 billion. The intervals do change as we want to be a little extra encouraging to new crunchers. Here are the recognition levels for each: Run time: Full years Points: 25,000 50,000 75,000 100,000 200,000 250,000 300,000 400,000 500,000 600,000 Results: 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 1,000 1,100 1,200 1,300 1,400 |
