On my boxes, "Project is temporarily shutdown for maintenance" is sporadic, but reports are eventually accepted. However, validation seems another matter. Whether rep > 1 or not, none of my jobs completed since 1802Z have validated.

Don't they normally post an announcement or something? yes, normally - although we've got to keep in mind that the number of techs supporting this whole environment, is kept to the bare minimum...FWIW, I've just managed to get quite a few RtR sent back. As to when they'll get validated, who knows - except that I do know that they WILL get validated sometime...  |

The overnight database backup really did a job on the system today and it is still running. I've turned off all the backend daemons and the scheduler is now responding properly and the database backup is moving quickly again.

K - the database backup finally finished (took ~18 hours). things are running again but way behind. It will take awhile to catch up. Work should be flowing to members now.

@Sekerob, I agree about setting up cache so no result will return within 48 hours which is what I have done, but for some unknown reason one machine has pulled in so many CPU resends with short return time that they will only ALL be done if I give them priority and stop running GPU tasks (which fate has interceded and made no new tasks available).
----------------------------------------The server appears to have worked out how many units this machine could cope with (using all twelve threads) if I run them to the wire with GPU off (normally using ten of the twelve threads). Since I wasn't around when all of the resends came in (all at once according to my logs) maybe that was after the 'temporary unavailable' messages had started which would make sense I guess if the server knew more than it was letting on  Am I the first to spot that the server has developed a sense of ironical cynicism?  Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

#8 most productive PC dried out, again. Nice job on your end. If you think you could do better apply for a job. No thanks. Why can't you up the buffer from 600 to a higher number. I do 150/hour on the mentioned rig and 4 hours buffer is apparently not enough. |
