1976 already
----------------------------------------How time flies when you are having fun. It was the hottest Summer of my life. I was ten and spent most of that Summer with a magnifying glass making stuff smoke. Which looking back at how tinder dry everything was maybe wasn't such a good idea. It was this that stoked my lifelong obsession with the Weather. I built Sundials and Anemometers at School that year and had a Weather Chart in the School Hall. Most of the time with the magnifying glass I would just get smoke no fire.... I managed to get hold of a shaving mirror from an old bathroom cabinet. Mum was sitting out in the Sun reading a newspaper. I trained that focused bright dot on the back pages expecting smoke which would have been funny. It just went whooooof up in flames.  As the black charred remains blew around the garden all Mum could say was... Congrats to all MOT members for Crunching and hanging in there!! It looks like all the fast work on GPU are gone At least for now (I think it has been over a week), but I have seen some evidence that GPU processing may be returning for other projects in WCG. Dave, have you been seeing GPU betas? It'd really be nice to see the other projects go GPU! |

What did surprise her was that you couldn't wait until she read it first. Hmmmmm.......me thinks you were a rather "precocious" child!   |
