Darth, hope all is well and you're just taking some vacation time...... Keith, Thanks for the concern. I was on a business trip and my home network and systems had some problems. I suspect there was an issue with the power because my one system that was not on a UPS (an old laptop) is now dead. The other systems were shut down, as would happen if the UPS batteries get too low. On top of all that, it's getting a little warm in the southwest corner of Silicon Valley, so when everything gets restarted my systems will be running at about 75%. I'll do some tinkering with the dead laptop to see if there's any hope of resurrection. If not, it was only producing about 1K points and one or two results per day (1.3 GHz Pentium M). However, it was the only system I have that can run HPF2 reliably. The CFO (aka Ms. Vader) isn't too keen on the idea of a possible replacement. - D Edit: fixed typo. I didn't think those were allowed any more. Did that go all the way to Rommity for OK? Well, practically speaking that is. Technically, they still exist just like education too. Amazing what you can get approved. Getting it funded though is a whole 'nuther matter!  Betcha a storm came through and you got just enough of a surge when the power cut out briefly and came right back to fry the lappy. I apparently once had lightning take out my well pump despite it being 300 feet underground. Anyway, welcome home! |
