confused Issues on wildfire

Guys,

Just installed app on wildfire with 2.3.7. Having issue with storage space being detected as 0MB (its more than that), apart what seems a lack of functionality to access external storage.

any ideas?

Re: Issues on wildfire

Boinc on Android does not yet support external storage.
Cheers

Re: Issues on wildfire

Hi EC8_Civic,
We are still finding all the bugs. To help us, could you tell us exactly what type of wildfire you have so we can find the exact specs on the internet and what internal storage BOINC for Android should be finding on it?

Lawrence

Re: Issues on wildfire

With, per BOINCStats as of last night > 6,000 'good' results returning devices, knreed could maybe post a list as he did for the GPUs. Then [prospective] members and those obtaining new, or pulling old from the closet [below the "we do not wish to learn off, too much detail" ;], have an easier reference of what hardware works well and what not. Something along the line of Device XYZ with Android v ABC.

BTW, saw in foreign national circulated news, that the BOINC for Android was selected as 1 of 3 "apps of the week", and in there a mention of an IOS for iPhone/iPAD was under development. Think knreed made a brief mention of looking at IOS... if that is too Linux based, who knows, but then Apple Store may want money again... they're not like a philanthropy, but, there was a news claim that they were going to start a free app store [they like to know what's installed and adapt their strategy to leach their pennies if they can].

Re: Issues on wildfire

Lawrence,

Well what more specs would u need?

The device only states:

Model: HTC Wildfire
OS: 2.3.7
CPU: ARMv6-Compatible processor rev2 (v61)
Mem 312MB

That's about all i can think of that u might need.

Do drop me a line if u think i can be of more specific help than the above.

Re: Issues on wildfire

Thanks, EC8_Civic

Here is a sample wildfire spec ( EC8_Civic ) which just specifies OS Android 2.1 instead of Android 2.3.7. Important things keep changing on equipment with the same name, which is why I asked.

Lawrence

added: So I messed up the link. sad The idea holds true.

Re: Issues on wildfire

We are not currently able to post the device type as our database is not storing that information. I can only summarize based on processor type and version of Android. If people are interested, I can post this if people are interested but it doesn't help most people figure out of their specific phone model will run WCG. We hope to be able to provide that information in the future, but we cannot at this time.

Re: Issues on wildfire

A member posted a solution this week and a big screenshot of the settings why that is and a tip how to get going. He has 6.4GB free storage, yet no 'internal' space allocated for the 'applications', which is what BOINC needs. Android is different in that respect.
