The UK Team gained a place in the Points rankings yesterday moving to #54 and passing BRASIL - BRAZIL@GRID. Revenge for the bump they gave us last year!

In a couple of days or so, I am going to do a small experiment to see precisely how much electricity is actually used by running everything I have at once.
----------------------------------------When I was with EON, my dual fuel account was £165+ per month (despite aggressive & over the top energy saving methods being put in place during my time with them, partly to compensate for the multiple PC's running), now I've switched, I'm averaging under £60 per month and the only thing to realistically explain £100+ per month drop is the fact I'm only running 1 PC. I don't believe that those other PC's would seriously cost THAT much to run, I think I was mostly being ripped off, so I will boot everything up for 2 weeks continuously and see If I'm right, I may not go back to full production, but I may start a 2nd PC running permanently. |

Having had EON as a business power supplier using sharp practice and automatic contract rollover without notification, I wouldn't use them again whatever the offer!

I see the CEP2 team have given an update (see the News section) to the project but nothing on length of work to come. Presumably it partially revolves around whether they get any fresh dubloons thrown their way.

I have just updated my tariff to an even cheaper one, but it won't kick in until the 1st July, so my experiment will begin on the 2nd July (if I'm going to test it, I might as well have it cost me as little as possible ). So 2nd July, I'm booting everything up for 2 weeks and will then double that to calculate how much extra that would have cost me for the whole month, then divide by 5 to get an approximate average on how much each extra PC costs me to run (there are 5 PC's sitting idle), then I will have a chat with the wife and see if I can justify the additional cost of an extra 1 or 2 I7's running Even if we decide it isn't justifiable, the team will atleast get a slight increase to help with it's next targets for 2 weeks [Edit 2 times, last edit by themoonscrescent at Jun 6, 2014 11:51:23 AM] |
