Forgot To Mention.

Had to take the my Server offline after a few days as it was upsetting the cats due to the noise. Due to being poorly over the last couple of weeks only did the fan mod Tuesday gone.

Each heatsink has a 80mm 2000rpm 25cfm 0.10amp 25dpa Fan, l used a 2x4pin Molex Y Spiltter+2x4pin Molex giving 2x 12v 2pin/2x 5v 2pin fan adapters to connect everything up. I tried 5v but the temps creep up very slowly due to the fans not moving enough air over the heatsinks.

The server is running and is crunching away highest core temp:57'c on all CPU's really happy the mod worked. As it did not cost me anything had 4x80mm fans from old computers l stripped down including cable's.

Going to get some meshed aluminium sheet to make a new panel as the old panel does not fit now due to the fans. But it will also help with ventalion to keep things cool and protect my cats, just got a bakers plastic bread tray in front of it for now.

It really makes a big difference to the noise level if only l could quiet down the PSU Fan it would be just about silent the main thing is the cats are alot happier now back to thier oldselfes.

My 24-thread server is about 3,500 miles away, I can't hear the fans no matter what speed they run at! wink

It's also now started to chew its way through lots of the queued OET1 work-units, which it now has a HUGE cache of, so that should mean some more badges soon, hopefully!

Morning Update

From the archives - [Feb 26, 2013]

Unfortunately we've had a retirement from the UK team. sgdale InActive prior to Oct 10 2012. Since resuming he contributed 0:221:05:35:53 including 0:117:16:50:24 in February. Sorry to see him go. sad

After a 2 year walkabout sgdale has returned and with a new name sidale frustrated

I will [eventually) work out how to handle a name change combined with a retirement reversal and then the the Morning Update will appear!
