Good morning team.

Good morning everyone. smile

Well crossed the 7mill points, curiously my points earned stats have got a lot better over the last 6 days from around 21k per day to closer to 28k per day. Could it be the cooler temperature or the fact that I have turned off MCM. Any ideas? smile

domonijo

According to my reckoning there is quite a difference in points generation rates across the projects. Figures are points/h CPU time

FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2 140.28
Outsmart Ebola Together 176.55
Uncovering Genome Mysteries 127.00
Mapping Cancer Markers 130.65
The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 119.46

OET is by far the most generous with CEP2 coming in last

Re: Good morning team.

Yeah, I been crunching a fair bit of OET recently, and I'd noticed a surge in points (and results). My favourite project (the one which got me into WCG in the first place) is CEP/CEP2, which according to your figures RTS48 is a bit mean, and it's harder on resources too sad

Re: Good morning team.

I've read on the forums that running CEP 2 can wear out your hard drive but not totally sure what they mean by that, and that some run in ram using a ramdisk, but don't not to sure what that is.

Re: Good morning team.

Yeah, scol5913. CEP2 is heavy on disk reading and writing. I suspect that after a couple of years it didn't do the SSD in my work laptop much good... it was down to less than 40% life remaining. Since then, I run it on an old-fashioned mechanical drive, and set the checkpoint to 10 minutes (although I don't think that makes much difference, and mechanical drives are theoretically less reliable than SSDs).

A RAM disk is piece of software that assigns part of your computer's memory to appear like another Windows drive letter. Software thinks it's writing to a real disk, but it isn't. Occasionally the contents of the RAM will be written to the real disk, usually on shutdown. RAM disks are usually only suitable for temporary stuff because if you lose the power you lose the data.

Good evening team

I've added some more stats - total team run time by project, also showing percentages of the total. Now that I'm adding the project run time data to my database, I'll (finally) be able to draw a pie chart in a few days, of current run time by project.

Good Morning Team

The pie has arrived smile
Some minor refinements required. It's supposed to be an average over the last 7 days, but I only have 2 days of data so far, but at least it gives a flavour (and I didn't choose the colours!).
Congratulations TomNuttall for your Diamond 10 for MCM.
