Congrats on all the achievements!!
Just downloaded the app to my phone. We'll see what that does. Be nice if it works smoothly.

I just got the new Nexus 7 tablet and was thinking about installing that app on it.
Let us know how your experience with it goes.


I've got the boinc app running on my old nexus 7 16gb and it can run a FAAH WU in about 3.5 - 4hrs (X4 as its a quad core) however the battery drain is immense and in my case i frequently have to charge the tablet up. Incidentally i am running my WCG work entirely on Android the other tablets being 2 x single core 1ghz machines which are a lot slower.

If you have the new nexus 7 i believe it has the tegra 4 processor rather than the tegra 3 so i would imagine there would be a notable performance boost over the old nexus 7 tablet.

I think you're right about the performance improvement - it takes about 2:20 to complete a wu.
I have only two of the four cores active, though. Just being cautious as I don't want to fry it.

i've been running on all 4 but you have got me worried now, think i will take it down to 2, i want this tablet to be going for quite a few years to come sad

On my phone WCG only runs if phone is plugged in. So during the day nothing is running but at night my phone is continuously running for WCG. So I think my nest thing to do is take a charger to work and have it plugged in at all times so I can keep kicking on WCG stuff. Looked tonight and in 2 days of running the app I've completed 14 jobs. So that's pretty good at this point.

I downloaded and ran one on my Kindle Fire HD. Having difficulties getting additional WUs though for some reason. Have to look at it in the morning....
