MCM1 WU too late?

This isn't a problem for me. Do want to make sure there's not a validator issue but I think there's a good explanation for this case. Here's the info on the WU:

Workunit Status

Project Name: Mapping Cancer Markers
Created: 11/08/2013 15:08:38
Name: MCM1_0000000_5567
Minimum Quorum: 2
Replication: 2

Result Name App Version Number Status Sent Time Time Due /
Return Time CPU Time / Elapsed Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit
MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 4-- 724 Error 11/10/13 06:40:19 11/10/13 06:42:28 0.00 90.0 / 0.0
MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 3-- - No Reply 11/8/13 20:19:00 11/10/13 06:40:04 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 2-- 724 Error 11/8/13 19:40:06 11/8/13 20:18:48 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 0-- 724 Error 11/8/13 19:32:52 11/8/13 19:39:51 0.00 113.4 / 0.0
MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 1-- 724 Too Late 11/8/13 19:32:19 11/9/13 11:48:59 5.44 94.3 / 0.0

This was one of the first 10,000 WU with the 3-day deadline. I returned it in plenty of time. While the info does show the quorum and replication, it doesn't show the max settings like on other BOINC projects. I think there's a max of five attempts at crunching a WU and, since I was the only successful one, I ended up getting the Too Late. The result log for me looks fine:

Result Name: MCM1_ 0000000_ 5567_ 1--

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>
Commandline = projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_mcm1_7.24_windows_intelx86 -SettingsFile MCM1_0000000_5567.txt -DatabaseFile dataset-17_72_SDG_v1.txt
Initializing
wcg_learn_limit = 500000
Running
[00:54:25]: Computing pass 0
Result.out = 3964026.000000
Run complete, CPU time: 19572.805866
06:48:14 (7484): called boinc_finish

</stderr_txt>

Re: MCM1 WU too late?

Thought it was known to old hands, but 'Too Late' on error free returned results, when the circulation was stopped due too many errors, seemingly 3 here, is the parking vehicle to then pass credit for time and effort. Don't be surprised to see this one turn 'Valid' without us seeing a wingman to confirm the result, that is, if you get the chance to see this. Possible is, once this result is pulled, credit is granted and RickTheBrick's having a reconcilation problem [and with WCGDAWS out of commission that's become quite a bit harder to do ;].

Re: MCM1 WU too late?

Well, that was my assumption. In all honesty, this is the first time I've had a WU go Too Late because all the other wingmen returned Error or No Reply. It's gone from Results Status so no following it up but I'm okay with it. I figured they had to have some way of dealing with only one cruncher returning a valid result on a WU. Must be a year of firsts for me. Not too long ago, got a few FAAH WUs where I was my own wingman (both of my machines got the WU). Not statistically likely of course but not impossible either.

Moderators should lock the vepaul forum account. Keeps posting continuously about a problem but refuses to provide any information when requested by members trying to help. This is obviously not a serious request.

And note that this thread was resurrected from 2013 as well.
