how do you get assessed your points per hour of run time? been wondering how some users have more points per result and others less. I only get about 60 points per hr based on what my stats say. Weird cause i have 3 comps and a phone running. 1 computer 24/7 and the other 2 10hrs a day. Wonder if its some setting I have. My 24/7 computer is only running at 45% cause I dont want to kill it. Any ideas?

Any ideas? It depends on how fast your computer is. If you have a slow computer that runs a work unit in 10 hours, you get the number of points that work unit deserves divided by 10 as your points per hour. If on the other hand you have a really fast computer that runs that same work unit in 1 hour, you get the number of points that work unit deserves divided by 1. So it depends on how fast your computing device is. An analogy: If you drive to someplace 100 miles away in a gocart at 10MPH you cover 10 miles per hour. On the other hand if you have a sports car and drive at 100, you cover 100 miles per hour. Make sense? BTW, each computing device gets a different number of points per hour based on it's throughput of work units. The objective of the points system is to give all users the same number of points for each work unit whether they are running on a really fast I7 or a Atom processor or a smartphone. It is imperfect system and there are discrepancies; nevertheless, an attempt is made. |

To those of you here in the US dealing with the severe cold, please take care and stay safe. The media has really hyped the weather here. Rain has things wet and the temps are dropping significantly and quickly in the mid-overnight hours as a major Artic front comes thru. Lots of warnings about black ice. Schools are already announcing they're closed tomorrow. Plenty of wind tomorrow with warnings for wind chills of -15F to -30F here in north Georgia. Forecast has single digit temps on Tuesday AM with the first above freezing temps on Wednesday afternoon.

Ahh I understand. Always seems like im getting the shaft on points. Always finish wu's faster than expected. Aids are 2 hrs or so. Getting just a handful of points. Probably a setting. Just took the restrictions off my work computers. Main laptop is staying at 45%.
