I look forward to this time of week when Sgt.Joe posts the updated estimated completion date. But as there is no official ending WU number, the estimates are incomplete and Sgt.Joe, rightfully, does not guess. As the techs have not mentioned what the last WU might be, I e-mailed WCG and was basically told that is information they themselves don't yet have.
----------------------------------------".... We also include the last batch (or work unit) number if we are able to. We are not at that point yet with the Mapping Cancer Markers project. Please continue to keep an eye on the forums and the News section for announcements regarding projects. " When that number becomes a bit more static we'll hear about it. Until then, and as always, crunch on :) ![]() |

So it is possible that there is still plenty of work. Great!

So far there has not been a new estimate for the total number of batches, but I will do the best I can without that information. I have been quite busy this week, but I finally got around to doing this.
----------------------------------------Last 30 day average results:506,124 Percentage Complete:??????? The average length of a WU is currently running about 3.91 hours, slightly shorter than last week, and still trending steady around the 4 hour mark. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 126785 which would give about 175 batches for the week. Therefore, by this measure the project is about ??.??% complete. We are still at about ??? more months (approx. ? days)of additional crunching at the current recent run rate. The projected completion date is now a ?. Production increased a bit this past week going from about 3.338 million WU's to 3.426 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 225 years per day, compared to 224 years per day the previous week. Remember, the situation can change at any time and these are only estimates. I have left some question marks because there is a lack of information to even speculate.Perhaps one of the techs will be kind enough to chime in with the estimated number of new batches of work. I decided I will not go into a much more speculative projection of the end of project just based on the amount of work done, the percentage listed on the research page and current pace of units being completed. Just too speculative. I wish I could do better, but the lack of information does provide a bit of hurdle. Only one chart this week, as the second one would still be meaningless. ![]() Cheers

Since I have recently learned the following information from WCG there is is no calculable end date. However I will still attempt to track the progress as it occurs. A big thanks to the WCG staff for making this available.
----------------------------------------Recently another estimated 5,000 batches were added to the project. We are not able to say the exact number of additional batches that will be added in the future, but we are fully expecting to receive more work units for the Mapping Cancer Markers project. The researchers will turn to other cancer-type work units when the current ones near completion. Last 30 day average results:510,120 Percentage Complete:Currently listed on the Research page:85% The average length of a WU is currently running about 3.86 hours, slightly shorter than last week, and still trending steady around the 4 hour mark. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 126965 which would give about 180 batches for the week. Production increased a bit this past week going from about 3.426 million WU's to 3.6 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just under an average of 235 years per day, compared to 225 years per day the previous week. If I can think of anything else relevant to track, I will try. Any suggestions welcome. ![]() Cheers

"5,000 batches were added" + "about 180 batches for the week"
So can we assume that there is at least 6-7 more months of work? |

I'm also curious where have you seen the +5000 batches statement? I have checked posts on forum, but didn't find such...

"5,000 batches were added" + "about 180 batches for the week" So can we assume that there is at least 6-7 more months of work? At the present rate this appears to be a safe assumption. I'm also curious where have you seen the +5000 batches statement? I have checked posts on forum, but didn't find such... I was lucky enough to get a private communication from the WCG staff. Cheers

I was lucky enough to get a private communication from the WCG staff. Cheers Oh, you lucky ! I hope it wasn't marked as "TOP SECRET / SCI / NOFORN" ;-) ![]() |

How unsurprising. ![]() ![]() Edit: back of envelope, like 5000 batches equivalent would then have been added, 26335 about the last batch in feeder round noon, just over 6 months worth at recent pace. Odd discussions as always at WCG, the above a quoted post of September 28..Its going to be lots more when reading the project updates ![]() |
