Re: Nice and cheap ($70) quad core tablet at Wal-Mart!

Just wondering if anyone is crunching on one of these?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-RKM-MK802IV-And...X-Airmouse-/230989990447?

Not going to be buying one for crunching but just wondered if it's possible or any good.

Re: Nice and cheap ($70) quad core tablet at Wal-Mart!

I have been crunching on the Ematic 7" Tablet and it's not too bad. Averaging only about 3.7 points per hour so this is not for anyone going for points. However the quad core is crunching at 97% efficiency so it would be a great value for anyone going for runtime badges. The screen resolution and sharp edges suck, but for only $80?

edit- It's doing faah WUs in 11 hours.

Re: Nice and cheap ($70) quad core tablet at Wal-Mart!

Got one from Walmart. Every thing seems OK, but I cannot get any WU to download. I can access WCG & BOINC web sites.
When I try https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/
I get the following error:

403 Forbidden
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /boinc/ on this server.

Any ideas?

The address to use for adding a device to WCG when using Windows and Linux is:
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/

Why would Android be using a different address?

On an Android device you have to add apps from the Google Play Store. Boinc is just another app. You can not add it from worldcommunitygrid.org

Forgot to mention that I did download the app from Google play store and installed. On the task screen it shoes "Nothing to do, Waiting for tasks..."

yoro42,
Does your default Device Profile have faah selected? The first time I installed Boinc on an android device my default profile had only MCM1 selected so I didn't get any workunits since android Boinc on WCG only does faah.
