Thread: Unable to log in while statistics are being updated |

The website (including forum) is failing to show me as logged in, despite my being able to post to the forum. Pages under My Contribution (Statistics, Devices and Results) give me "The page you requested is currently unavailable because the statistics are being updated" (which is ok for Statistics and Results, but Devices??) but they also say "Log In" at top left. Even this forum "Post new thread" page says "Log In" at top left. I've tried hitting Log In on all of them but get the same result, even on a different machine.
Weird  Running Firefox 28.0 on Windows 7 64-bit. |

It is quite a normal situation. Starting about 0:40 UTC, and for about an hour, the statistics including your contribution are being updated every day. During this period, accessing such data from many crunchers may impact the performace by database locking mechanism. The your sign-in records also are a part of the statistics.

This bug was reported the first day of the new web site. It is a cosmetic failure since you are logged in. I have no idea when the staff will work down the list and try to fix it.

your sign-in records also are a part of the statistics. Kiyo, I'm really surprised at that! From a design point of view, I hope it's not correct. This bug was reported the first day of the new web site. It is a cosmetic failure since you are logged in Lawrence, I've seen mentions of Log In / Sign Out display problems, but not any with a connection to the stats update being run. As soon as the update completed, a refresh of all the pages I was viewing caused the correct Sign Out link to appear. |
