How does WCG define a day I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I'm currently running a 4930k which is a 3.4ghz 6-core. So will that be 12 days or is there also cut off for ghz speed so it would average out to be a little more?

A WCG or BOINC "day" is defined from 00:00 UTC to 00:00 UTC. UTC is called Coordinated Universal Time and is often casually interchanged with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and occasionally UT1 (Universal Time's principal form). However, it is important to know that there are key differences between these time standards, particularly when considering fractions of a second.
