Hi,
----------------------------------------I'm currently having a problem with some workunits. When I run them, after a while, it will be stuck at 0.500% and I discovered that those workunits ended with a 0. Here's an example: 05/20/14 17:32:17 | World Community Grid | Starting task MCM1_0004438_9275_0 05/20/14 17:32:59 | World Community Grid | task MCM1_0004438_9275_0 aborted by user 05/20/14 17:33:00 | World Community Grid | Computation for task MCM1_0004438_9275_0 finished Can anyone tell me the problem? Running on acer aspire v5 with windows 8. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 20, 2014 10:13:58 AM] |

05/20/14 17:32:59 | World Community Grid | task MCM1_0004438_9275_0 aborted by user You aborted the WU. I discovered that those workunits ended with a 0 Irrelevant. The _0 suffix indicates the copy # of the work unit. If you find the WU in Result Status and click on it under Result Name you will see 2 copies _0 (yours) and _1 (wingman). MCM WUs are of variable length and % completed is only a rough and ready guide. If you think a WU is stuck select it in BOINC Mgr and click Properties. If CPU time and Elapsed time are increasing (over a period of minutes) then all is well. |

ok thanks but I aborted the WU after when it got stuck and this problem started since I started with WCG. Not until recently I decided to bring up this issue.

Was there not something about that 0.5 percent resistence point? Ran over 4 years now and never a fail, just extreme runtime variability, which has always been.

I hope this is the right thread to have an explanation abt that:
----------------------------------------1) a lot of work units get "no reply" although my computers were on 2) get a lot of "error" is the pb on my side?? alged,
These results are 10 days old so unfortunately they aren't still on your results status page. For Error results that are still on your results page, you can click on the word "Error" to get the stderr from that work unit which will give more information about where the problem occurred. Also, you can click on the work unit name to view the status of other copies of that same work unit. If it failed on all other machines it was sent to, that would generally indicate a problem with the work unit. Alternatively, if it only failed on your machine that would indicate the issue is that one machine. If you're getting a lot of "No reply" work units, you may want to check if BOINC is set to run when your computer is in use (preferences->processor usage) and set a low cache size (preferences->network usage->Max additional work buffer) such as 0.1.
