Should I deactivate my ADWARE, Norton and Firewall software? When I want to use my computer how do I or should I deactivate/pause the world community grid program? It really isn't necessary to make drastic changes to your computer just to run this software. It is designed to run seamlessly in the background, only taking up 'extra' CPU cycles that aren't being used elsewhere. I especially would not recommend disabling your firewalls but you might need to unblock the executable so it can receive data from the server. If you open up the client from the taskbar, you will notice a crescent in the bottom right hand corner. This is the snooze function and can be used to snooze the client for 5 minutes. This value can be changed by clicking on the checkmark next to the crescent, under preferences. Hope this helps. JnKFam |

Should I deactivate my ADWARE, Norton and Firewall software? When I want to use my computer how do I or should I deactivate/pause the world community grid program? John - I have all three programs on my PC also and haven't had any problems at all. Didn't even have to change any of my firewall settings, though in retrospect that does seem a little odd - I have my security set pretty tight. At any rate, it's working great. I hope you have the same luck! |
