A few people have asked for it but not enough to warrant the IT work needed to make such a preference.

A few people have asked for it but not enough to warrant the IT work needed to make such a preference. An infinitely better answer than the first reply by someone who openly solicited the position of community advisor ![]() According a post by iirc uplinger, the request was added to the roll after the technicians failed to use the app_config/app_info features to stop the sending to clients not wanting them. Would have been a better solution considering some use linux and windows mixes, us only having 4 profiles at our disposal to specify what project tasks to send. App_config with an added tag for instance <allowed_in_progress> to specify how many are allowed to be buffered would have been ideal, feeding this back to servers. Of course specifying 0 would mean zero and not infinite as is often the case with boinc. This way the volunteer would have best control over what mixes are processed, a chance to get for instance a 50/50 division of fa@h and mcm. Since 7.4 beta is feature closed in development, next opportunity would be 7.5 alpha series. 2 bolivars worth. |

My answer was short, to the point and totally accurate, so please keep your facetious remarks to yourself!
