Re: Welcome to the project!

Yesterday I added the project Ebola. It worked.
Today in my list of tasks I do not see him.
Calculated other projects.
Ebola counted?
PS I punched change user and select only ebolu
it's nothing.

Re: Welcome to the project!

Dr. Erica Ollmann Saphire
In his work on GO Fight Against Malaria Dr Alex Perryman at Scripps Research Institute set the benchmark for interaction between Project Scientists and the WCG community. That you took the trouble to supply the detailed response above is massively encouraging to volunteers and will only encourage greater efforts.

Thank you.

Re: Welcome to the project!

The auto-include for new projects did not work for me, so I thought I should investigate. This specific requirement for the project is listed. Check your device specifications if you want to run it:

Users who choose to run this project are encouraged to set the 'Leave applications in memory while suspended' option in their device profile

Mine was "no" to isolate a previous problem, so I changed it to "yes" and added the Ebola project.

Re: Welcome to the project!

The auto-include setting wasn't activated by WCG. Probably has something to do with the lack of work.

Re: Welcome to the project!

The Ebola project showed up in a public local newspaper article this morning about WCG. We should get a bunch of work in a hurry. I had been running betas for this for a couple of days so I knew something was going on.

The current beta has been running for 17 hours and it says it is 50% completed. Hopefully they will change the execution slices. I haven't seen any regular ebola queue items yet.

Please do not hesitate to read the 3rd active thread below this one in the OET forum to find discussion on the why: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,37507

How long have you been trying? I switched off the other projects two days after this one started. As I am finishing up those WUs, my queue is filling up with OET WUs now.

Re: Welcome to the project!

I'm glad to be participating -- I have run two tasks . but no more since the initial set.

I am hoping that there is simply a shortage of work units. (Is there a way to see the "inventory" of work units for a project?).

If work units are available, let me know so I can try to see why we are not contributing to your research.
