They, the IPs, returned to view after staying away from the code jumble for a few hours. The browser, yes FF 40.0.2 was not reset or anything, just left up. Going to bed and study the inside of my eyelids... much happier stories there.

I just noticed my machine had not work but a beta unit it was trying to download but it was saying communication deferred. Are there server issues or could this be related to the beta project.

About naming convention:
BETA_avx101118-031_r15_1_wcgfahb100000_0 BETA_avx101118-085_r15_1_wcgfahb100000_0 BETA_avx101118-004_r13_1_wcgfahb200000_0 BETA_avx101118-058_r13_1_wcgfahb200000_0 It seems wcgfahb100000 starts with step 100000 and wcgfahb200000 starts with step 200000. In this case 2nd and 3rd generation tasks. |

Don't know if this is going to get addressed at this stage, but with such linear computing, it's puzzling why clients still get wrong 'remaining time to complete' [TTC]. Though having set <fraction_done_exact> in app_config, the time is miles off on this one running on Linux:
7.10 beta21 BETA_avx101118-020_r18_1_0 01d,13:09:12 (01d,12:56:05) 99,41 76,683 06:38:35 02d,10:46:17 8/25/2015 8:03:00 PM [17] 00:19:38 Running 111.45 MB 195.56 MB At 76.7% with 37:56 hours runtime, remaining time is closer to 12, but the indication is 6:38. It's on the official WCG distributed 7.2.42 release! TTC wrong on these long time running, buffering wrong, client in panic mode for anyone who likes to buffer a few days, for on the road for example. |

Rob for the task in question above is that a standard deadline of 4 days as per other baiters? (apologies for spelling if not correct)
----------------------------------------it could also be a case of Boinc getting used to running the application and then estimated remaining run-time will decrease. I have seen this happen with at least one project. ![]() |

It's suffix _0, i.e. standard issue. There's an adversary running around at WCG... it's called <dont_use_dcf/>. This blocks the client to compute times properly. Using <fraction_done_exact/> seems not to work against FAHB either, as does it not against CEP2 as WCG side things were hard-coded one way or the other.
What you generally see in the client as buffer is bogus [somewhere version 7.n this started]. This is one reason [of the many] for me developing the hunting tool. It uses -My- device's runtime actuals to project what is really in the cache, based on current completion times and not some server average with grand lapse rate that's being dictated. |

Whence WCG decides to not open a new FAHB phase separate from FAHV/FAAH, same situation will arise... no sub-selection. But, maybe app-level selection is underway rather than project level and with the last of seeing FAHV in a few months it might even become a moot point escape clause.
Just thinking ahead what's coming, maybe as irrelevant as the recognition pattern for nTh generation work-units... it would be 20 at least IIRC, any 100KStep task not completed in the string increasing that number by 1, i.e. we could be seeing e.g. wcgfahb1910000. |

As there are info'd 2,000,000 steps in a string, then why is 200000 not numbered 0200000? Simple: Not my problem ;P

Are there server issues or could this be related to the beta project. stevemtu, have you browsed this Beta 'Issues thread' if the problem was brought up before? You might want to do that as the solution discussed is upgrading to client version 7.2.42 or 7.2.47, those offered on the WCG download page. This worked for other members who were on 6.10 and earlier, which is not compliant with the latest sha-256 security level that was implemented a month or 2 ago. |
