This is all very strange, that such a problem can not be addressed by WCG with more priority. Not being able to receive any tasks is never good.
----------------------------------------I can confirm for my part at least that my method mentioned earlier seems to work for getting new tasks, but it seems to need pending uploads as well. Mine uploads the first finished tasks from cache but then the last tasks as they finish they are getting stuck as pending uploads. I then wait for all tasks in buffer to complete and become pending uploads. What happens is that the app queues more files for Download (goes from 1 pending Download to perhaps 25 pending Download because it wants to get new tasks). This is when I do my "trick" above to make BOIC actually exit when I pause it and press the back button to leave the application on my phone. As I start BOINC again it is launched from scratch, I press the "play button" and it uploads stuck pending uploads and begins download of all new tasks - leaving still the 1 file to Download as earlier, but this way I can fetch tasks, crunch and upload stuck tasks. ... --- ... I have the same issue on my side. I enabled debugging for http in the BOINC app.

Yes and this has been pestering us since the server/account crap-out back somewhere in October, something with logrotate... something with a name starting with log at least... right around from here https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=506465 and this started with https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,38604
Some coincidence, but it's now 3.5+ months an unaddressed recurring issue. |

We have fixed this issue.
The core of the issue (as SekeRob noted) was that a few of the slideshow files were referenced as this: http://bdd7.https.cdn.softlayer.net/80BDD7/gr...slideshow/cep2_03_v02.png when they should have been referenced as this https://BDD7.https.cdn.softlayer.net/80BDD7/g...slideshow/cep2_03_v02.png (note the http vs https) We have changed the references so that they all use the proper https references thus future attaches/resets will pick up the proper references. In the meantime, we have modified things so that the http connection works so that the machines that are currently stuck will work correctly. We will leave this in place for about a week and then we will remove it since it will not longer be required. |

Already wrote it somewhere, the newest clients 7.6.29/31 won't be stopped downloading tasks, if these image file downloads stall. Unfortunately there's no new Android build yet :(
